Dr. Cornel Pewewardy (Comanche-Kiowa) is assistant professor in the Department of Teaching and Leadership, School of Education at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. He teaches multicultural education courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at KU and a course in Teaching Native Students at Haskell Indian Nations University.

 
Carter Camp

American Indian Rights Activist and Ponca Tribal Leader, Carter Camp has worked for Tribal Sovereignty and Treaty Rights for over thirty years. He is a former National Chairman of the American Indian Movement and founder of Kansas and Oklahoma A.I.M.. In 1973 at Wounded Knee, South Dakota, Carter was one of three A.I.M. leaders who led several hundred warriors in the historic, 73 day Wounded Knee liberation and subsequent 'siege' by the American Government. This desperate action by the American Indian Movement created dramatic change all across Indian Country and forced the American Government to begin to abide by the treaties with Indian Nations. Today, Carter edits and publishes the "PONCA CITIZEN," a community newsletter for the members of his Tribe, and continues as the Chairman of the American Indian Movement of Oklahoma. He is a Sundance Society leader and traditionalist in Ponca religious practices.

 
Charles Yow

Executive Director of the Native American Heritage Initiative

Attorney for Mass AIM and a number of other Native entities including groups adffiliated with each of the seven major factions of the American Indian Movement, primary legal focus: heritage matters: defending Native heritage and culture, and civil rights.

Richie Plass
Active in the mascot/logo issue since the mid 1960's, when he actually was the mascot for his high school. Richie has also been working towards the preservation of ancestral burial grounds. Has been involved in Native American Diversity Training with his organization Trails of The Menominee, and has written a book of poetry and narratives called Growing Up Indian Here on Turtle Island, He performed as a musician/drummer since 1965 with the Wolf River Band from the Menominee Reservation in Wisconsin. Richie speaks publicly on the mascot issue throughout the midwest.
 
Rob McDonald

Rob McDonald is columnist and reporter for The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash. He's a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Salish and Kootenai in Western Montana. He's also member of the Native American Journalists Association and a board member of UNITY, an umbrella organization known for bringing together journalists of color from the four organizations, NAJA, AAJA, NABJ and NAHJ.
