White Privilege

White privilege has a terrible sound to it. Almost any white person who hears the term feels their guard go up. It has the ring of reverse racism, does not sound inclusive and immediately sets the stage for being offended, turning around and walking away.

No one asked for this privilege, almost no one would deny anyone else equal opportunities if it were within their power to offer them. But these articles are not here to offend anyone, or to point any fingers of blame. They are here to help you understand what people of color live with, the subtleties of life that many don't recognize or take for granted because we all only live life as it is offered to us. Take a leap of faith, read one or two, or all of them. They will open your eyes to what it is like to be a person of color.

If you are feeling unfairly targeted by being singled out for these articles, then you may be beginning to understand the discrimination others face on a daily basis.

That's what its all about.
Understanding, Empathy, and Finally, Action.
